CENRO Lianga PAWCZMS focal person, For. Anita E. Tejero had rescued a Philippine Eagle found at Banbanon, Banahao, Lianga, SDS specifically at lot owned by Jupiter Mabong, it is second time that an eagle is captured in the AOR of CENRO Lianga. The wildlife later released after assessment and found out to be in good health.

DENR-PENRO Surigao Sur initiates "Operation Baklas to Save Trees" from illegal posting of election campaign materials to trees along national highway on May 11, 2016. OIC PENR Officer Raul A. Rosales himself led a team for the said operation which start from Balibadon in municipality of Cortes to Dayo-an in municipality of Tago. The election posters taken from the trees during the "Operation Baklas" were turned over to Tandag City ESWM office for recycling and proper disposal as mandated by RA 9003. The "Operation Baklas to Save Trees" is in accordance with the Presidential Decree No. 953 issued on July 1976, RA 3571, Comelec Resolution 6616, and Joint DENR-DILG-COMELEC Memo Circular 2013-01. NATIONAL GREENING PROGRAM

        Executive Order (EO) No. 26 series  of  2011 declares the implementation  of  the National  Greening Program  and mandates  the DENR to be the  lead  agency in the afforestation/reforestation of 1.5  million  hectares of land of  public  domain and  plant some 1.5  billion  trees for a period of six years. All government entities, private sectors and People’s Organization including students are encourage to participate in the program.

MANGROVE & BEACH FOREST DEVELOPMENT PROJECT

       The Mangrove and Beach Forest  Development Project (MBFDP) is  intended  to develop and rehabilitate  mangrove and  beach forest in disaster-  affected areas as a  means to improve  and enhance the natural  defenses and  resilience of the country’s  coastlines  and its environs vis-à-vis the  impacts of climate change. Following a systematic approach, site validation covers activities to confirm the geographical location (GPS points) of planting sites that were initially identified and mapped (shapefiles) by the CENROs/PENROs based on agreed targets.
